BEASTLY is the largest annual event in Scouting and Guiding event within Basingstoke. It brings together young people from across multiple groups, districts and organisations for a fun packed multi-activity day. With activities such as Archery to Climbing and Virtual Reality to Zorb Football there is something for young people of all ages.

This amazing event is planned and run by volunteers with a core team planning and organising the event and expanding as we get closer to the event. You’ll be part of an amazing team of volunteers who are passionate about delivering an exciting, fun filled and inclusive day to our young people.

About the role
The Sponsorship Lead will work with the Event Leads to secure new sponsorships to support the event financially and in-kind. This individual identifies potential sponsors, develops sponsorship proposals, and builds lasting relationships to keep event costs low and enhance the event experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a sponsorship strategy to attract and retain sponsors.
- Identify potential sponsors and research their interests and capabilities.
- Create compelling sponsorship proposals and packages tailored to potential sponsors.
- Reach out to and negotiate with potential sponsors to secure financial and in-kind contributions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Coordinate with the marketing and media teams to ensure sponsors receive appropriate recognition and visibility.
- Manage sponsor agreements and ensure all sponsorship commitments are fulfilled.
- Provide post-event reports to sponsors, highlighting their contributions and the impact on the event.
Training Requirements
This role requires the Scouts Getting Started Training to be completed within 5 months of your role start date. These are a few short online modules which cover things such as Safety and Safeguarding. If you are already involved in Scouts, it’s likely you’ll have already done these and generally won’t be required to do them specifically for this role.
Time Commitment
Outside of the event there will be a number of meetings with the team across the year, these tend to be monthly mixed between in person (Basingstoke) and hybrid. Most other aspects of the role can be done as suits the role holder.
