Explorer Scout Leader

Do you enjoy working with young people, being outdoors, learning new skills, or giving back to your community?

We’re looking for new Explorer Scout Leaders to help support and grow Explorer Scout Units in Basingstoke.

Explorer Scouts are young people aged 14–18 who take part in adventurous activities, leadership development, community projects, and life skills – from camping and hiking to first aid, teamwork, and preparing for adult life.

Our Explorer groups meet:

• Thursday evenings (19:15–21:15) – Basingstoke United Reform Church (top of town)

• Monday evenings (19:30–21:30) – Base 2000, Popley, Basingstoke

Skills

As an Explorer Scout Leader, you’ll:

• Support and encourage young people

• Help run weekly evening sessions and activities

• Be part of a friendly, supportive volunteer team

• Gain training, qualifications, and transferable skills

• Make a real difference to young people in your local area

You don’t need to have been an Explorer Scout yourself. Full training and ongoing support are provided, and you can volunteer in a way that fits around your other commitments.

If you’re enthusiastic, reliable, and want to help young people grow in confidence and independence, we’d love to hear from you.
