The Friends of Oakley Park is a not-for-profit community group run by volunteers. We are the “community voice” in matters relating to the Park and we are funded by members’ subscriptions, donations from local businesses, grants and fund raising events.
Our programme of events typically includes a summer fete, an Easter egg hunt, a children’s fun run, a teddy bears’ picnic, and a few more unusual and instructive events including bush craft skills and pond dipping. All events are community based and open, free of charge, to all comers.
As a committee member we would like you to attend committee meetings which are held monthly in one of the officers' home. You should be engaged, as part of the team, in the organisation and running of events in Oakley Park.
You will be directly involved with the local community on a face-to-face basis. Some you may already know and there will be many others with whom you can interface.
Skills
Interpersonal skills dealing with all age groups and ethnicities. All are welcome to the events we organise.
