Our Charity funds bespoke or specialised equipment to enable children to have a better quality of life, build self-esteem, improve confidence or assist with independence.
Run entirely by volunteers, we have helped hundreds of local families, schools and colleges in the area since we began and rely solely on funds raised by profits from Starburst Theatre productions, events hosted throughout the year as well as generous donations from local businesses and people in the local community.
Starburst Foundation is formed with four departments - Starburst Hire / Starburst Charity / Starburst Theatre Company and Starburst Academy. The company was established in 1991 as a pure drama society and over the years has grown into the foundation it is today. We donated to many local charities in our early years but wanted the freedom to affect local families directly so formed the charity, which now means families apply directly to us and we can facilitate their needs.
The Theatre company stages the annual Fleet Pantomime playing to over 4500 people in 3 weeks. This atmosphere creates a positive and directed environment for the members of the company many of which are under 21. We also engage in the local high street by running the Santa's Grotto, performing at the Christmas fare and turning the Christmas lights on every year. The charity, as well as the foundation, is totally supported by hard-working volunteers and dedicated individuals who raise money via sponsored events, London Marathon, climbing mountains, walks etc. One of our major event fundraiser outside of the theatre is our annual charity black-tie ball.
