About
Fleet Town Council is a statutory body with elected members. Funding is principally provided by an annual precept paid by residents as part of their council tax.To supplement this money the town council will also be able to apply for other funding such as grants. The potential range and duties of a Town Council are wide ranging, but from Fleet's perspective these are likely to include: the provision of allotments, looking after our parks and play areas, powers to provide and maintain bus shelters, the power to provide and equip buildings for use of clubs, the power to acquire and maintain land, and the power to contribute financially to traffic calming schemes.
