Communicare is a group of volunteers who offer help to the elderly and physically infirm in their community. We provide transport to and from appointments at local hospitals, health centres, dental surgeries, opticians, and also occasionally to London hospitals.
All clients who wish to use Communicare in Fleet must first be registered with us.
All new clients need to do is telephone our service any week day between 10.00am and 1.00pm on 01252 613121. They will be asked various questions, name, address etc. but also some personal questions regarding health etc. A welcome pack will then be sent out to them, this must be received before any tasks can be undertaken for them. This does mean that they must have a medical appointment scheduled within the next two weeks in order for them to register. We do not register clients "just in case" .
Request for a driver can be taken up to 7 days in advance, but not for the same day, and next day appointments are not always possible. We never confirm at the time of calling that a driver will be available, if we are successful the driver will call to confirm, but on occasions we do not have drivers available.

To register as a new client you must have a medical appointment booked within the following two weeks. If this is not the case, clients will not be registered.
However, If after registering you do not use our service for any reason for more than 3 months, client details will be removed.
You can of course re-register if you have a booked appointment as mentioned above.
If after using our service regularly and our records then show no bookings have been made in the past two years we will then remove the client from our records. At this time we have no way of knowing if a client has moved from the area or passed away, unless we are advised, which sadly does not happen very often.
