Almost 10 million people in the UK are deaf or have a hearing loss. That's one in six of the population. Our mission is to offer a life-changing level of independence, confidence and companionship to deaf people by providing dogs trained to alert recipients to important everyday sounds and danger signals
As Hearing Dogs is mainly funded by public donations with no government funding, fundraising is a major part of the Charity's activities. We currently have over 350 fundraising volunteers across the country, but we always need more supporters to start new groups, join existing groups, or to work as individuals. These volunteers are vital to the continuation of the Charity's work, as they raise both funds and awareness of the work of Hearing Dogs.
