Basingstoke Radio is a vibrant, growing community radio station dedicated to bringing local news, great music, and engaging talk shows to our borough. Run entirely by passionate volunteers, we provide a voice for local people, charities, and businesses. We are looking for an enthusiastic Volunteer Technical Assistant to join our behind-the-scenes team. If you love tech, audio gear, computers, or media production, this is your chance to gain hands-on experience and help keep us on the air!
What You Will Be Doing
As a Technical Assistant, you will support the technical health of the station. Don't worry if you aren't an expert yet—we will provide training! Your role will involve:
- Studio Support: Helping presenters with any studio related issues
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Assisting with the upkeep of studio equipment, PCs, and broadcast software.
- Digital Assistance: Helping manage our online stream, website updates, or smart speaker apps.
- Event Setup: Occasionally assisting with portable audio equipment for live outside broadcasts at community events.
