Trustee

Hart Voluntary Action is looking for more people based in the local area to join our Charity Trustee Board.  If you who are interested to support a local charity which provides a broad range of services to local residents and community groups across Hart District, then do get in touch.  We are particularly interested to hear from individuals who have connections to one or more community organisations operating within the district. 

Hart Voluntary Action's Trustee Board are responsible for the ensuring that the charity meets its statutory obligations and assisting the staff team with shaping and planning its services. All Trustees would need to be able to commit to participating in the quarterly Board meetings, and there are opportunities to get more involved in supporting the charity’s fundraising, governance and HR committees

The Trustee role involves:

  • Learning more about what is involved in being a Trustee for a charity.
  • Attending Board meetings and taking part in strategic decision-making about the charity’s activity.
  • Engaging with staff and volunteers outside of meetings, and potentially taking a more in-depth interest in one of our service areas.
  • Offering skills and experience for the benefit of the charity.

Skills

No formal qualifications required. An interest in Hart District, and knowledge of or experience of working/volunteering for a community group in Hart.

Specific work experience which we value: coaching/mentoring, business or project development, interest in issues such as volunteering, mental health, youth work etc.

Availability Details

Board meetings currently take place on Thursday mornings on a quarterly basis 9.00-11.30. Optional sub-committee meetings, networking events - days and times to suit.
