Rural Minds Outreach Volunteer

Our Rural Minds Outreach Volunteer will assist the wellbeing team in our Rural Minds Matter project. We need your enthusiasm to help create a friendly welcoming environment where service users feel relaxed and able to make the most of their time with us. Volunteers are required on a Thursday between 9am and 1pm term time only. You will assist in setting up, making tea and coffee and tidying up after the group and support staff as needed. A DBS check is required for this role and is funded by Andover Mind. 

Main activities and tasks

• To meet and greet new and regular attendees.
• Support the wellbeing team
• Ensure the area is left clean and tidy
• Report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with our policy

Role boundaries

A volunteer is NOT able to:

• Give service users their own or other volunteer contact details
• Solve any problems which may arise that are outside the role
• Promise to keep secrets
• Give advice or deal with individuals or agencies on behalf of service users
• Support service users where there are ongoing concerns around risk and/or domestic violence
• Meet service users outside of the volunteering role or hours
• Have a relationship of a non-professional nature with a service user
• Enter into a financial or business relationship with service user
