We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Sales Volunteer to join our small, dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in media sales, fundraising, or community engagement, or for a retiree looking to contribute their professional skills to a worthwhile local cause. You will play a crucial role in securing the vital funding needed to sustain our station and grow our community impact.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead Generation: Research and identify potential local businesses, organisations, and individuals who would benefit from advertising or sponsoring programs on the radio station.
• Outreach and Prospecting: Make introductory calls, send emails, and conduct in-person visits (where appropriate) to potential sponsors/advertisers.
• Sales Pitch and Presentation: Effectively communicate the value and reach of the radio station and tailor advertising packages to meet the client's needs and budget.
• Administrative Support: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, contacts, and progress using our internal system (or a simple spreadsheet).
• Networking: Represent the station at local business events, networking meetings, and community functions to promote advertising opportunities.
• Relationship Management: Help to maintain positive relationships with existing advertisers and look for opportunities for renewal or upselling (under supervision).
