- Volunteering as a Stitcher, creating items,
- Packing and labelling items
- Running community groups
- Supporting with our administration,
- Grant funding management.
- Finance/ bookkeeping
- Leading a project,
- Part of our committed management team
- Supporting and co-ordinating our event planning
- etc…
We have opportunities requiring from a few hours a month to several days a week. Please let us know what you are looking for. We want to know how we can best utilise your strengths to ensure you love the work Stitchers achieves. We aim to support you to share in its success and love what you do. Some of our roles can be managed remotely, some will or can be office based in our Basingstoke office, others would benefit from transport to provide groups and workshops at a variety of external venues. Some of our roles provide expense payments and some are purely voluntary.
As with everyone who is part of our stitchers family, we want to ensure that each role fits in with your life and commitments and is fun and rewarding for everyone involved while ensuring Stitchers reaches its objectives and fulfils its commitments.
Skills
Commitment, generosity, kindness, communication, people skills and a sense of humour are essential. Life skills, formal qualifications or job experiences are all welcome. We believe everyone has something to offer us if the first few are in place! If you are starting or returning to work we would love to support you on your journey and help you to achieve skills you may need.
Training, support or buddying will be ongoing dependant on the applicant’s needs, skills and experience. We all aim to work in an environment of helping, learning from and supporting each other to achieve the best for Oakley Stitchers CIC. With everyone working together we can all help each other and the people we support as much as possible. So doors are always open, no question is too much and when you are ready and confident to move forward yourself, we are here to support and encourage you to do so. Any external training will be discussed dependant on role.
