Ready Steady Walk Volunteer – Tuesdays 1pm – (Basingstoke)

Are you a friendly and welcoming person who would like to support local families? Do you enjoy walking and being outside? Then this rewarding role could be for you!

This role involves supporting the Ready Steady Walk group in Basingstoke on a Tuesday at 1pm. The Walk starts at Waitrose/Go Outdoors They are free, fun and informal social walking groups for families with babies and young children. Encouraging parents/carers to go for a stroll and a chat gives them the chance to meet other local families as well as the motivation to take part in activity outside and enjoy some gentle physical movement. Everyone is welcome! The walks are pushchair friendly and last for 40-50 minutes. We are looking for volunteers to chat to parents/carers in the group and help everyone feel welcome. In addition, useful information is shared with the group including signposting to the latest health guidance. The walks are organised by Hampshire Healthy Families which is a partnership between Southern Health Foundation Trust (NHS) and Barnardo’s.
