About Home-Start Hampshire
At Home-Start Hampshire, we believe that every parent deserves a bit of help when things get tough. We are part of a national network of over 300 local Home-Starts, but our heart is right here in your community. Our mission is simple: to help families rediscover the fun in family life. We do this by:
- Building Confidence: Visiting parents in their own homes to offer support and practical assistance.
- Providing Reassurance: Reminding parents that their challenges aren't "unique" and that they aren't alone.
- Focusing on Strengths: Encouraging a parent’s emotional well-being to ensure their children have the best possible start.
- Expert Support: Backed by Home-Start UK, our volunteers receive professional, up-to-date training to provide the highest standard of care. Because childhood can't wait.
Join us in making a lasting impact on a local family’s future.
Make a Difference in Rushmoor & Hart! Do you have parenting experience and a couple of hours to spare? Become a "friendly face" for a local family going through a tough time. Whether it's a listening ear for a parent or playing games with the kids, your support can help a family get the fun back into life!
Why join us?
- Meaningful Impact: You'll see the direct difference you make as families grow in confidence.
- Personal Growth: Our volunteers often find they learn just as much about themselves as the families they help.
- Flexible Volunteering: Visit a family for 1–2 hours weekly or fortnightly at a time that suits you both.
- Full Support: We provide flexible eLearning you can do in your own time, plus ongoing guidance from our friendly Coordinators.
What you’ll be doing:
- Offering a non-judgemental, listening ear to overwhelmed parents.
- Helping families get out to the park or local groups.
- Reading stories, playing, and simply being supportive.
