Governors make decisions about the future of schools; they set the aims and objectives for the school or group of schools and set the policies and targets for achieving those aims and objectives. They decide how funding is spent, support and challenge executive leaders, guide what children learn and the values they live by. They monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making and act as a source of challenge and support to the Headteacher. These activities influence the direction of the school and ultimately shape young people’s opportunities to achieve their full potential.
You will be joining a team of governors as part of an outstanding school, working with the staff to improve the opportunities for children and set them up for success.
