Governor

Have you got a passion for supporting young people? Would you like to take on a hugely rewarding role in the community?

We are looking for a member of the community (co-opted governor) to join our governing board.

As a governor you will be a volunteer who makes a vital contribution to the success of the school. Governors set the aims and objectives for the school, monitor and evaluate progress and challenge and support the Headteacher. We meet 9 times a year on Monday evenings at 7pm for which you will need prepare reading documents beforehand. The meetings are , once a month (excluding December, April and August). Alongside the evening meetings we would like a volunteer to be able to go into school during school hours maybe 3-4 times a year for a strategic visit.

We're happy to have informal chats with you initially so you can see if it's for you. You would also be welcome to come and shadow a meeting before committing.

Skills

Ideally governors are experienced professionals - however, we would welcome Governor Applications from any member of our community. You don't need to have children, have worked in education or have any specific experience - we provide lots of training and support to help you settle in.
