Garden helper

The Camrose Centre for Homeless and vulnerably housed, in Basingstoke, has a small vegetable garden which our guests tend, there is also a north facing ornamental garden which we have taken responsibility for..  We are looking to recruit a few more knowledgeable amateur gardeners to help our guests work in the garden.  This involves being at Camrose when we are open and when you are free and possibly also raising plants at home to be grown on at Camrose.  The commitment could be 1 or more sessions each month.

Skills

Some knowledge of vegetable and ornamental gardening would be useful, you will also need to be good at listening to and talking to other people.  The idea is to motivate and assist our clients but also where needed to keep things going ourselves.  We strive to improve the mental health and well-being of our clients and the garden is one tool that we use top do this.
