Calls and Visits On-line Reception

Calls and Visits is a small voluntary group of about 25 people whose aim is to tackle loneliness by providing a straightforward service of conversation. We are targeting those who are homebound and least able to socialise by going to sit in a cafe or day centre. Mostly these folk are very elderly, but not always. Your contribution to our mission of less loneliness would be very welcome. You would be given an induction and ongoing support, and be invited to our social gatherings every few months.

Taking your turn on a rota one week per month (two if you prefer) this role should take no more than an hour a day and often less. Check emails and phone messages and respond by sending information to those who want to volunteer or find out more about our service. Inform the Group Leader should there be a referral request for befriending.  There is no requirement to answer phone calls but a willingness to make calls at a time of your choosing to give an initial response to someone who does not use email, would be helpful.
