Each year the Nigh Shelter team puts on a meal on Christmas day for our own guests and a few others who would otherwise be on their own, this doubles as a Day shelter for our overnight guests. We also like to run a day shelter on Boxing day due to other services being closed. We usually need a few extra volunteers on Christmas day and boxing day but would like to offer you the same training as our other volunteers have.
As well as helpers to make our guests welcome, sign them in, secure bags etc we would also like some kitchen staff and a lead cook.
Skills
We are looking for compassionate volunteers who are good at listening and having a conversation.
We will provide a 90 minute training and information session. First aid and mental health first aid training are also useful
