We have a wonderful opportunity for you! Our charity shop is seeking dedicated volunteers to help support pet owners and the well-being of animals in our community.

About Us: At Helping Dogs & Cats UK,  we are committed to making a difference to the lives of pets and their owners. We provide support and resources to ensure that pets are happy, healthy, and well-cared for. Every purchase at our shop helps fund vital programs that directly benefit the lives of animals and pet owners in and around Basingstoke.

* Volunteer Roles *:

Assisting customers with purchases 

Organising and arranging merchandise

Managing the cash register (training provided)

Creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere

- Shift Availability: We provide flexible shifts to accommodate your availability. Whether you can volunteer a few hours a week or a few days a month, your contribution can change the lives of pets and their owners in Basingstoke.

Skills

Previous experience not required. Training and support provided to help our volunteers develop the necessary skills for their roles.

Most important qualities are a willingness to learn, a passion for helping pets and their owners, and a commitment to the mission of the charity shop.

Customer Service: Good customer service skills, including friendliness, patience, and the ability to assist customers.

Communication: Clear and effective communication is crucial, whether you're interacting with customers, fellow volunteers.

Retail and Merchandising: Skills related to organising and displaying merchandise, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and welcoming shop environment.

Teamwork: The ability to work well with other volunteers and staff members, as a harmonious team is essential for a successful charity shop.

Time Management: Being punctual and managing your time during your volunteer shifts.

Cash Handling: If you're tasked with managing the cash register,  and the ability to handle money accurately.

Patience: Dealing with shop customer, may require patience, as every situation is unique.

Flexibility: The willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and tasks as needed.

Adherence to Guidelines: Following any of the rescue's policies and procedures for the charity shop.
