Started in Sept 2020, Calls and Visits is an entirely voluntary group working in Fleet and the surrounding area towards our mission: less loneliness. We offer befriending to those most isolated: who are not able to get out and about to alleviate the pain of isolation due to age, frailty, immobility or because they are carers.
An Assistant Group Leader is needed to help run the group (currently 20 volunteers) and to be part of our growth journey. Responsibilities will include:
- Attend monthly online Steering Group meetings (evening) and become part of the strategic decision making process.
- Deputise for the Group Leader when she is absent due to holidays or sickness, in particular making any urgent safeguarding decisions.
- Learn the ropes of the whole administration and be able to step in during the absence of the officers in charge of volunteer recruitment and client referrals
- Take a turn at online Reception duties, sending out information to enquirers.
Time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours per week, flexible, working from home.
